15% considered themselves to be fitness freaks, while 59% believed physical activity as a necessary part of their lives. 6% of the respondents considered physical activities to be a waste of their time.
Have you ever had to consult a psychiatrist/counselor for mental illness?
86.5% of the respondents denied having had to visit the psychiatrist, while 13.5% mentioned having visited the psychiatrist during some period of their stay in IITB. While ‘ Had to visit the psychiatrist throughout my stay’ was an option, no respondents selected it.
On an average, how frequently did you drink alcohol?
38% of the respondents said that they drink alcohol very occasionally, while 32.3% abstained from it during their stay in IITB. 13% and 13.5% respondents stated their consumption frequency was once in a month and once a week respectively. 3.1% responded that their consumption of alcohol occurred more than once every week.
What was your favourite place to drink?
Out of the respondents who drink, a notable proportion stated the two outlets outside the main gate as their favourite places to drink (10.9% for Laxmi and 14.1% for Sunny). 9.9% stated that they preferred their own room.
When did you start drinking?
Of the 130 respondents who drink, 91 started drinking after their freshie year, while only 12% had already been drinking by the time they came to the institute.
How frequently do/did you smoke cigarettes?
A staggering majority of 84.9% have said that they do not smoke cigarettes. Out of the 15.1% that smoke, 7.3% have stated that they smoke once every 2-3 weeks, while the percentage of daily smokers stand at 5.2%.

Out of those who smoke, 79% started smoking after their freshie year, while 10% had already been smoking before they came to IITB.
Which of the following peer pressures did you face at IIT Bombay?
More than half of the respondents faced a peer pressure to pull night-outs or to sleep late, while 41% claimed to have faced a pressure to perform better academically. Only around 15% were pressured to cheat in examinations or assignments.
Where do you peg your monthly expenditure?
What was the major cause of your spending?
Around 35.9% of the students pegged their monthly expenditure between 1000 and 3000 Rupees, while a quarter of the respondents spend over 5000 Rupees per month. Of their expenditures, the largest majority was spent on food.
Which of these have you ticked off your bucket-list?
4.2% of the people haven’t ticked any of the above off their bucket list.
Around half of the respondents (51.8%) had gone for a Goa Trip with their friends, while a large majority of 74.3% had travelled ticketless on a local. 31.9% claimed that they had not participated in any GC during their hostel life, while 20.4% and 15.7% displayed their endurance by participating in a marathon and cycling to Marine Drive respectively.
Which of these places have you visited during your stay at IIT-Bombay?
89.6% have been to the boathouse and 80.7% have climbed upon Sameer Hill. Only 34.4% have been to the edge of Vihar lake, while 41.1% and 3.6% have never been inside H10 and the library respectively.

On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied are you with the quality of your life in the institute (1 being ‘not at all’, 10 being ‘very much’)?
Out of all respondents, 34.4% have rated their quality of life as 8, followed by 19.8% who rated it as 7 and 18.2% who rated it as 9. The fact that the number of respondents who gave their quality of life a 10 rating is significantly higher than lowest five rating combined which shows that the respondents perceived their quality of life in IITB to be good enough.
